Craft

From the beginning, we decided that anything made for these spaces would be made by someone. Not sourced, not specified from a catalogue commissioned. Each piece belongs to the residence it was made for, and each maker brings their own logic to the material. Myrsini Alexandridi was the first.

Myrsini Alexandridi

Each residence holds a piece made for it.

The tiles and artworks inside φikies were commissioned from Myrsini Alexandridi, a visual artist and architect based in Stockholm. Her practice sits at the edge of surface and architecture: hand-painted ceramic tiles that function as autonomous works, assembled into compositions drawn from Greek landscape, folk memory, and material logic.

Nothing here was selected from a catalogue. Each piece was made for the space it lives in.
Artist note Myrsini Alexandridi (b. 1991, Greece) trained as an architect in Athens and the Netherlands. She has exhibited at the Biennale of Contemporary Ceramics in Rhodes and shown work in Stockholm and beyond.
